Marion of WoolThreadPaint has just released her pattern for her Little Gem Blanket and I was straight down the yarn shop to choose a selection of colours to make it with.

Mine will have a different look to hers I think, with my colour choices, especially for my second border of granny stripes. Plus I’m going to aim for single bed size instead of square. This means as well as having 3 x 5 squares for the central panel, I will also need to adjust the other borders.
The 2 main differences are the second granny border has 2 extra rows to increase the stitch count. Then the second granny square border has grannies with 5 rounds, not 4, before they are joined.
I also changed the edging as I’m not very good at crab stitch.
