Notes

Having looked at the pattern recently when setting up a promotion, I quite fancied making another one!
I didn’t have very much 4 ply in my stash and the post in our area is pretty slow under lockdown but then I remembered this!
Merino would have worked better for this design to be honest but I think it will be ok. It’s a bit thinner though, so I’ve gone down a hook size.
The colour is lovely! It’s denim blue with flashes of royal blue and purple, and under tones of sea green. Quite lovely.

I have 2 big 100g balls and I know I have plenty, so have made it wider but not too much longer. So far…. Once I get onto the border, I might decide to make that deeper too, which will add to the length as well.

But shall I go with pompoms or picots?….

I went with an adapted version of picot edging mentioned in the pattern.
The yarn did soften nicely after a long soak but the pompoms still wouldn’t have dangled quite right with the texture.
It’s a lot deeper at 16” at the widest point, so will make a nice shoulder wrap. (I increased to a total of 49 sts for section one. For section 2, I added a row of dtr and then trcl + ch1, before working the edging.)
