This is a great project for beginners whom are ready for the next level. The pattern really keeps you interested throughout.
I recommend to chose your yarn colors as such:

one high intensity jewel toned color
one pastel
one muted/neutral
Any combination of these three will work fabulously. Great to get rid of your sock yarn left overs.
