This piece is worked in a continuous spiral, but halfway through the body I turned it once and continued the spiral in the opposite direction. It’s easier to see in the side and rear views and created an interesting texture contrast between the top and bottom halves, since the bottom half is right side out and the top half is wrong side out.

Details: seed beads, really fuzzy felt, chenille stems (which I’m a little iffy on). Wings are felt ovals attached with embroidery floss in a simple running stitch. Looking at the photos I wish I’d pushed the right eye in a little farther as I don’t think it engaged the backing as much as it should have.
