Mystery worsted acrylic from a bag of mill ends. You can see the whole color run in the two tentacles, but I skipped the dark brown and light brown when making the body and the other eight arms.
Modified the pattern as follows:
The final round of the body is worked in BLO and then decreased around for 2 rows to make a flat bottom.
Added stabilizing fins at the top. This was something like ch 4, turn, sc in each stitch, then sort of rotate the whole thing sideways and sc 3 across the end to make a triangle.
Limbs are stockinette instead of garter stitch and there are ten instead of six: eight medium length arms (about 18 rows) and two tentacles (about 36 rows). The tentacles have a m1 increase towards the end, then 2 rows and then a k2tog in each of the last two rows to make the clubs.
The eyes are 6mm instead of 9mm.
