Notes

I want to follow the look of the shawl from the movie:

  • midnight blue with pale blue stripes
  • MC solid array is about 3 times CC/MC/CC array high
  • sport weight yarn
  • knitted flat in 1x1 ribbing
  • original measurements (Noble Collection): 12” x 85” = 30 x 216 cm.

My gauge in stockinette:
24 x 32
My gauge in 1x1 rib:
28 x 30

Pattern:
MC: midnight blue 861
CC: ice blue 877

CO with MC 88 sts with a very stretchy cast-on method. I followed this tutorial.

The entire shawl:
Knit in 1x1 rib (k1, p1).
Slip as if to purl the first stitch on every row.
Knit the last stitch on every row

MC: 60 rows.

( CC: 4 rows
MC: 6 rows
CC: 4 rows
MC: 40 rows )*

Repeat 8 times more or until the shawl has reached about 180 cm length (it will grow after blocking).

Cast-off with a stretchy method.

Optional: add 6 cm long fringes at the ends of the shawl.

Block gently: Submerge in lukewarm water with a splash of washing-up liquid. Rinse in lukewarm water 3-4 times, without agitating too much. Dry flat.

Wear proudly!

My scarf turned out 25 cm wide and 2 m long.

I finished pretty much last-minute for my daughter’s birthday and gifted it to her before a chance to some good photos…
