Excited to try the new Print version of Sandnes Garn’s Kid Silk, I picked a pattern from DIY catalog 2308 VOL1 called Debutant Sweater.

It’s knit top down and instead of the usual knit in the round with short rows to form the neckline, you start out by knitting flat and increase stitches at the end of the rows, before you join to knit in the round. You pick up stitches for the neck ribbing at a later point. The neck ribbing is turned double to the inside and stitched down, something I regret doing - it feels way too thick and “bouncy” on this jumper…

It was an easy knit to bring along for christmas visits, knitting in the car, watching TV or in social settings, but it would have bored me out of my mind if I were to knit it without company of others or whilst traveling I had forgotten how tedious it can be to knit with “hairy” mohair, when you sometimes need to yank the stitches free from invisible strands entangling them, I prefer my knitting to flow a bit smoother.

The finished object is pretty much as described in the pattern, and the print yarn is really beautiful.
