Finally, the time has come to make the incredibly beautiful Hulda by Kristin Wiola Ødegaard! It has been on my mind for years, as I fell in love with the pattern the first time I laid my eyes on it.

I am using only stashed yarn for this project, and I didn’t have enough black from one batch, so the body and sleeves are knit from two different batches. I think I have used 14-15 or 16 different colors in the stranded yoke, but unfortunately I am missing the ball bands with the color numbers from a lot of them. I will try to figure it out and list them for future reference once the project is done.

Other than choosing different colors than the original I also added a few borders at the bottom of the stranded pattern part. I wanted it to end with a dramatic zigzagging design and also to continue past where I divided the sleeves and body. I took inspiration from the old Veme Kofte pattern and altered it slightly.

I’m thinking about starting another Hulda since I have pulled out so many Finull colors already, and I would like it to be a cardigan, in white, perhaps?
