I found it a little confusing that she had the explanation of the stitch emblems used in the chart on one page, the emblems on another, and the chart on yet another.

I wrote out the pattern (a 16-row repeat) and worked from my written instructions. Much easier than flipping pattern pages back & forth. I made both socks the same, off the Big Viking Right chart.

I did these toe-up, provisional cast on of 32 st, made a k2p2 border on one side of the chart and p2k2 on the other. Also did a short-row heel with a mini-gusset of 10 extra stitches and eye of partridge stitch pattern.

LOVE these socks, the cabling is beautiful. Jay the a$$hole loved them too, though I’m sorry I gave them to him instead of keeping them for myself. Next time I’ll practice more self-esteem and self-love.
