For the legs, because I was doing socks, I picked up 5 st each side and cast on 6 instead of 4 in the middle, with needle size 2.5. I knit 8 rows navy st.st., 2 rows wite, k2 rows navy. This gives the ridge at the top of the sock. I also added an extra 2 rows to the leg, ie cast off on row 21. Hopefully this will allow some of the football sock to be seen.
