Notes

This is probably one of the most colourful dresses I have done. I did the butterflies in intarsia using lengths of different colours of Rico essentials Dk cotton.
I did this dress mainly to try out a new border pattern, which worked nicely giving a good firm hem, which I thought looked a bit grass like, hence the flowers .

Cross over border
Cast on multiples of 3
Row 1 &3: (rs) S1, (K1, P2) to last 2 st, K2
Row 2&4 :(ws) S1, ( P1,K2) to last 2 st, P2
Row 5: S1, ( put tip of right needle through the st 4 down from the k st on the left needle and pull through loop, add to left needle and k2 tog tbl, P2) to last 2 st, k2
There is a you tube video showing this border.link text

Cast on 96 st, and do 5 rows of border and P 1 row.
Then 5 rows of flower pattern
K1 row,P1 row
I placed a butterfly in the gap between 2 flowers and skipped the gap between the next 2 flowers.
23 rows in total
I decreased as per Suzymaries modifications on row 28
