Notes

was going to use Penelope or Sir Walter alpaca for the solid section and the frutas for the lace part, but swatched out with just the frutas and I kinda like how it looks, so not striping it. Let’s see how big 850 yards of lace will get me.

11-16-2017

After doing 16 rows with just the frutas, decided I did not after all like how it looked. Frogged back and will try using the green on the double-crochet rows, the orange on the single crochet row, and the frutas on the flowers. Sigh.

11-17-2017

Like the look of this with the green for solid rows much better

11-23-2017

Going to have to add a bunch of repeats to use up my greens - will still have more than enough Frutas for the bottom edge. Linking one project which says to repeat row 15-16 after row 41 which is where I am at. I will indicate the increases I use for the dc rows, with the original row in parenthesis for reference. Reminder to myself to save enough green for the last solid section in Part B rows 3-5.

1 - (15) 2DC in first stitch, 5 DC in each 5chain space
2 - (20) 5dc in each 5chain space (using Stella) (see next note!)

12-01-2017

Had to reduce three stitches to work the first lace row after the #2 above. Not sure if I miscounted earlier in the row but I just fudged it and continuing :). Probably should have just done four double crochets in the first and last five chain spaces on the solid double crochet row.

12-02-2017

Row 4 of edging using Lucille. Pattern says should be a multiple of 10 after subtracting 7
105 spaces, 106 DC shells = 211 x 5 = 1055
1055-7=1048. So I need to add 2 DC’s.

12-03-2017

Going to not have enough Lucille. Going to try with 4dc in each space.

(106 x 5) +( 105 x 4 ) = 530 + 420 - 7= 943
So have to reduce by 3 dc. I dc 2 together in the first, last, and middle shell.

Had just enough to finish the DC row. Skipping the SC row. Centering the 5 triple shell in between the 2nd and 3rd DC in the chain 5 space. It looks really pretty. Just wish I had had enough Lucille to do the sc row.

12-09-2017

Altered the second to last row to use 2dc cluster instead of the 3 dc in the shell - trying to save some yarn as I’m getting a bit low and these last rows are so LONG. Last row I’m doing 3dc 3chain picot 3dc instead of the longer picot. I think I’m going to have enough but its definitely yarn chicken time.

12-10-2017

squeezed out the last row with enough Frutas - and I had enough Penelope to do the single crochet around the neck. Now to block! I really like how the colors worked.

On the mats,
Apx. 28” at deepest point
Apx. 56” neckline
Apx. 160” bottom
She is quite fluffily largegrinning
