many thoughts and motivation.
? the black of rich soil exposed in empty beds in winter. the greens of evergreens and frozen plants, of grass dulled by cold. the red of left over berries, and the early promise of forced tulips, late blooming amarillis .
but also the black of political depression, my country weeps as its leader fiddles while we burn. while congress republicans support blindly rash and racist, zenophobic, islamophobic policies.
the green of physical distress. copious tears fall in the dark and in the bright sunshine and wind. the green of billiousness, of infested ponds, the sky before a tornado.
and hope in the red berries, the people , ordinary and elected speaking out. the red alarm of so many , the surge to block the muslim ban, the courts that suceeded, the politicians rising to speak against evil. the grassroots pressure at town hallmeetings, press conferences, the adding of investigative reporters, the press waking too.
and still the black of hate and rich soil. the green of illness and springn on the rise, the red of fire and flower
