Notes

I remember knitting a child’s sweater with this yarn and for an acrylic yarn I liked it very much. Washes well and is soft and easy to work with. Also has a pleasing gradation of colours. Working with large balls is especially nice as one ball knits about 1/3 rd of sweater body without joins. My gauge is 3.5 st/inch. (pattern is 4 st.) Sleeves knitted with 4.5 mm needles

I used 2 3/4 balls of Marble for long sleeve cardigan. 2 3/4 x 200 gm balls.Size medium.

Sandy modelled jacket. No buttons yet.

TWEEKS:

This yarn is best knitted in size 5 mm up to 7 mm. depending on drape required. I used 7 mm for caponcho’s but this sweater was perfect with 5 mm. needles although 5.5 mm would probably have been fine.

CO 2 + 10 + 24 + 10 + 2 st. (48 stitches).

Frogged back to where pattern suggests picking up 10 stitches for the underarms. Picked up 2 instead as the sweater was too wide. Knitted without tapering to desired length.

I have 35 stitches for the left front section, 71 for the back & 35 stitches for right front. (total is 141 stitches ) Finished with 1 1\2’ ribbing.

Picked up 72 stitches for right front band. knitted about 1’ wide. Same for left band making a buttonhole after every 6 stitches. Total 9 buttonholes.

Pick Up 10 stitches front collar; 8 sleeve edge; 18 centre stitches; 8 and 10 for total of 56 stitches for collar.

I started to add i-cord to front edges intending to include bottom edge but it was working up too bulky. Added i-cord to the collar as it tended to curl. I am still looking for buttons otherwise it is finished. As I am a bit of a purest and wish I had chosen wool or a wool blend. A lot of work for a synthetic garment.

I-Cord: picked up every stitch around the collar on 4.5 mm needles.

This yarn gets fuzzy with wear,
