I bought a 400 end / 8 yard warp called Cabbage Rose from Christine at Carr Park Artisans some years ago. It has sat while I came up with a draft and concept to do this lovely soft pastels justice.

A friend gifted me a cone of ecru tencel and Rebecca Logun designed a draft that seem to suit nicely. I did modify the draft to suit me and the project. Instead of 4 shaft point twill mid way, I went to 8 shaft an it gave more pattern.

The stripes are alternating olive and lemongrass, with solid lemongrass mid way. (see draft in photos)

The 2 shawls both measure 22 x 85 finished . ON the loom they were woven to 89 inches and 23.5 in the reed.

Wet finishing and a good hard press really brought out the shine, the pattern and a gorgeous drape.

I’ll be adding more photos soon and they will be indoor shots as the bright sunshine bleaches out the soft colours.
