Notes

When your best friend is a knitter and is having a baby, you pull out all the stops.

I can’t say enough good things about this pattern, it’s wonderful to knit from beginning to end, which is not true for most blanket patterns. I already want to knit a second. The best thing about it is that you don’t have to commit to a size when you cast on, as the blanket grows as you knit.

I made this smaller than the pattern calls for, so it could be a car seat blanket, so I did one less pattern repeat, for a total of 5 repeats (the pattern calls for 6).

I didn’t much like knitting with the yarn at the beginning, it was so superwash, but I got used to it, and it makes for a great final product. Very squishy and after blocking filled out very nicely.

(Note: in the middle image the blanket is not yet blocked)
