Notes

I was a little disappointed with this yarn. I had heard very good things about Marble and have been wanting to use it for a long time. This combination of colours was exactly what I wanted so it seemed ideal.

The original plan was to make crochet granny squares with knitted triangles in between. I have done this before. It is very easy, very effective and very impressive as it is difficult to see how it has been done, when the garment is finished.

Marble was much thicker than I expected (I have recently been using another James Brett DK yarn and the difference is enormous.) The squares were pretty but too chunky so I had a change of plan and decided to go for knitted squares.

I NEVER have two projects on the go at once - and now I have - and they both need to be finished very soon. This one is currently abandoned in favour of the other.

Marble is a nice yarn. It just didn’t behave as I wanted.

You can see the original squares at the bottom of the photos but …

I abandoned my plans again and finally settled for very simple squares. They were quicker, easier to do, and showed the yarn to better effect.

The resulting jacket is heavier than I would normally wear but it looks OK.

Then, because I have to wear gloves every day, I made a pair of matching fingerless gloves.
