I love these board games that double as afghans. Tis one is perhaps more grown up than the others but even adults like to sit on the floor and play.

I used Aran yarn though the pattern does give instructions for making it in other types of yarn. I used approximately 1000 metres in blue for the background, 300 metres each of pink and cream fr the wedges and 350 metres for the borders.

The playing pieces were made from lengths of cord made with one of those French knitting/i-cord machines where you wind the handle and the cord comes out of the bottom. The dice were made from plastic canvas.
