This cushion is based on M C Escher’s Horsemen tessellation. Steve (WoolhelminaToo) charted it and I knitted it.

As with all illusion knitting, it is a clever combination of knits and purls so very easy to knit.

One of the photos shows the stripes you see when you look straight down on the knitting. The other photos show the cushion with, and without, its insert. The illusion can be seen best when the cushion is completely flat.

The pattern also includes a Birds tessellation cushion.
