I used slightly less than two balls of each colour.

I found this design particularly easy to knit because the picture is symmetrical. I worked halfway across the chart and could ‘think backwards’ for the other half - but that’s just the way my mind works.

I’m sure any little girl - and a lot of much bigger girls - would love this blanket. It would be easy to make it bigger by making the borders wider all round. You could even add extra as the child grows up.
