Notes

I first met James Grime about eighteen months ago and was given a set of Grime Dice.

James is a young mathematician known to many as a presenter on the Numberphile channel on YouTube. He is also The Enigma Project Officer at the University of Cambridge, an organiser of MathsJam and he occasionally appears on radio and TV talking about Maths. In addition to all this he is a juggler and unicyclist. It seemed a good idea to make a set of his dice as juggling balls.

There is information about the dice on the pattern page including links to several videos and explanations and a place where you can buy a set of James’ original dice.

I made three sets of juggling balls. One is to keep; another is for James; the third is for Colin Wright who is another juggler who gives talks on the mathematics of juggling. I also made a set of plastic canvas dice.
