Every week we go to a local craft group in a village called Trawden. They are putting on a display in the church and needed a banner. Illusion knitting seemed ideal.

The pattern has ten different alphabets. I used Two stitches wide; Upper case; Viewed from the side. I modified the W as the original looked rather wide. The narrow version is perhaps not as clear as the original but I think it probably looks better overall.

When you look straight at the banner you only see red and white stripes with a blue and white border. When you look from the side you see TRAWDEN CRAFTIES. The lettering is designed to be viewed from the right but works almost as well from the left.

Red, white and blue were chosen for this Jubilee year.
