We have named this ‘thing’ Octopush though we sometimes call it an Octocube because it is made from eight small cubes. We made up both of these names.

It may have a proper name but, if it does, we don’t know what it is. Everyone has seen one, probably as a child’s toy or with photos of a holiday destination.

It has eight cubes and twelve different colours and it folds repeatedly to reveal several different faces.

It is one of those compulsive things that you just can’t put down once you pick it up.
