I made a hat, from the same pattern, for my friend who has lost her hair due to chemotherapy. She loved it and asked me to make another. She chose the yarn from a selection of odd balls I had. It is a very old yarn.

She wanted it to be closer fitting so I made the patterned part shorter. I made it in the same way as the first one, starting above the rib with a temporary cast-on and adding the rib afterwards.
