Notes

This came out even better than I anticipated. I made a Tangram cushion years ago and only thought of making the actual puzzle pieces when we were recently working with other puzzles.

The Tangram is an ancient Chinese puzzle. The seven pieces are known as tans. They are traditionally coloured black. The aim of the puzzle is to assemble the pieces into various shapes such as the rabbit, man, woman and arrow, you can see in the photos.

The Tangram shown measures about 13” (32cm), and could easily be packed in a box, as a gift. The pieces will fit in two layers. You might be lucky enough to find a bag of the right size, as I did.

I made pieces using two different methods. The photo of the complete Tangram shows those made by the easy method. The second photo shows the results of the two methods.
