I have been experimenting with illusion knitting that does not show straight stripes when you look directly at the knitting.

When you look at these two squares from an angle they are very similar. Both have alternating light and dark stripes. In real life they are more alike than they look in the photo. When you look from directly in front, one shows the normal straight stripes you would expect to see in illusion knitting; the other shows wiggly stripes.

I think they would create an interesting visual effect if the squares were used alternately to make an afghan.
