I decided to try my hand at making a story bag and enjoyed the process immensely.

The projects were so quick and easy and hubby made me some mini dpns to make them knit up that much quicker. I would probably use a smaller needle gauge next time as I am a loose knitter…

I got the leaves from some artificial flowers I found in a charity shop and needle felted some sheep’s wool to create the caterpillar egg, then I punched holes in the second leaf for the final part of the story.

The CATERPILLARS were made from sewn Suffolk Puffs filled with polyester filling and sewn together.

Next I must make the rest of the picnic for the story, in a combination of crochet and knitting.
I have discovered another Raveler Little Jenny Wren who has already made the whole picnic.
