This pattern looks excellent and makes a very good gift, but if I have to knit one more row of it I’m going to scream.

To stop this scarf from curling (as per a commenter on the lion brand page): instead of the p5, do p1, k1, p3 and then p3, k1, p1 on the front of the scarf and continue the pattern on the back (k1, p1, k3, etc.) If you’ve already made it, just unbind it and fix with a crochet hook. This gives you a knit border one stitch from the inside of the garter.

I still recommend blocking it afterwards, and then you might need to give it a good yank every now and then horizontally, but it cuts down on the curling significantly.
