I did a workshop at Loop in London, with visual artist Julie Arkell. She makes quirky paper mache figures, and we got to chose one of her pre-makes, to dress and take home. I chose to make mine (who I’m calling ‘Purl’), a knitted Onesie, but Julie didn’t have the pattern written down, so I followed her instructions, which involved a lot of winging it! Sorry…. Improvisation.

I’ve embellished her with beads around her hood, pink crochet trims on the arms and legs of the Onesie, a knitted scarf and the ‘trade mark’ Julie Arkell word patch, on which I chose to write…
