Knitting from some unnamed tweed (with wool and angora supposedly) bought on ebay. It has a lot of grease and is quite stiff. But I washed sample and it turned soft and pleasant to touch.
I followed pattern except minor changes.
I used german short-rows - because I like them best (and honestly I don’t see them at all on finished item).
After struggling with seaming shoulders I cheated a bit. I picked up new stitches along the edges and bound them off together with 2 stitch i-cord. It looks like a perfect seam now. Side seams are normal.
Did tubular bind-off without dividing knit and purl stitches.
One thing I would definitely change is sleeve cuffs - they are too narrow for my liking. Next time if I knit it again I will either pick more stitches and knit shorter ribbing or omit cuffs altogether and use i-cord edge.
Overall it’s a nice pattern. Although I wish it was clearly stated that cable stitches are included in short rows. It would save me from a lot of self-doubting.
Regarding size I think people shouldn’t be afraid of positive ease. I did 54’’ for my 43-44’’ bust and it looks great.
