I’m getting ready to add in my 3rd color for my Emoryi Shawl. It’s so exciting!! laughing

Once again, I’m woefully behind in this CaL, but I’m trying to focus less on the timelines and instead view it as an opportunity to just enjoy the fabric that I’m making by hand. I love these colors, this yarn, & this pattern so it isn’t too difficult to just stop & enjoy my progress.

Running about a week behind the Crochet-a-Long schedule, but I’m still thoroughly enjoying working on my #emoryishawl by @ceruleanorchidad using @queeniecrochet yarn!
.
It didn’t show up as well in this picture, but these two colors together are absolutely beautiful & very Spring-y. The variegated is her Remarkable colorway & it’s working up to look like little flower bursts of colors against the pale pink/grey/lavender background.
.
There are also little pops of the same olive-y tone as in the contrast skein of Mossy Grass so it’s not a stark contrast between the two which I think is helping to make it feel even more delicate & feminine. Looking forward to getting to row 65 so I can add in my 3rd color, Antique Peach! laughing

You guys!! I’m doing brioche in crochet!! laughinglaughinglaughing
.
Seriously, this is the most “advanced” crochet project that I think I’ve ever done but it’s not even that difficult. I love it so much & it’s actually easier to wrap your head around doing than knitted brioche.
.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a sucker for my knitted brioche, but after teaching many (MANY) first time brioche knitters, I can safely say that crochet brioche is much less confusing.
.
And just look at how pretty it is in my yarns from @queeniecrochet ! I started with the Remarkable colorway & have now added Mossy Grass to stripe with it. Don’t you just love how these colors are playing together? heart_eyes
.
This is my little beginning triangle of my Emoryi Shawl by @ceruleanorchidad and its been such a fun project to work on today!
.
I love how quickly shawls grow when the rows are still this short too. Makes it seem like you’re much faster at crocheting than you actually are, lol. joy
.
Are you joining us for the #emoryishawlcal ? I popped into the FB group earlier to peek around & there are so many gorgeous projects in there!! Love seeing all the variety & color choices as we work our shawls together. two_hearts

Got my new yarn from @queeniecrochet caked up & ready to go for the #emoryishawlcal with @ceruleanorchidad , @totallyradjess , & @queeniecrochet !!
.
It’s been a long time since I did anything more advanced than a stuffie in crochet so I’m so excited to learn faux brioche crochet with this pattern. My first color that I cast on with is Remarkable (pictured bottom right) and I absolutely love it!!
.
Lighting got away from me tonight, but I’ll share a picture of my little baby-sized shawl tomorrow, it’s so pretty you guys and the patterning is really fun! heart_eyes
.
Yarn is from @queeniecrochet in her fingering-weight base in the colors: Mossy Grass (green), Antique Peach (pink/peach), & Remarkable (speckled). Hook is the Maple Wood option & is also from @queeniecrochet .

Yarn Mail w/ Queenie Crochet & the Emoryi Shawl CaL!

I got some gorgeous yarn in the mail today!

Here’s a little peak at my order from @queeniecrochet & what my plans are for it. (Spoiler: #emoryishawlcal w/ @ceruleanorchidad , @totallyradjess , & @queeniecrochet !! laughinglaughinglaughing)

I’ve also got a bonus skein tucked in here for a commissioned #magicfringeshawl that I’m really excited to work up, too.

Seriously, you guys, this yarn is so soft & squishy… I can’t quit touching it in this video, lol. I’m gonna go cake it up now, but I hope you like the video. Give my friends some follows if you want some great inspiration (or yarn wink) or come join the fun shawl making with us. We’d love to have you!!
