This is a collection of random images & notes as I write the patterns for the 2021 Indie Sock-a-Long ebook.

Description of Proposed Work:
For my OWL this term I will be writing the rough draft of a sock pattern eBook and will be knitting 12 socks from these patterns. By the end of term, I’ll have the rough drafts of 12 sock patterns ready to begin testing and will knit 1 adult sock in each pattern.
(Patterns will not be tech edited. If time allows, testing may begin before the end of term on some patterns so they’ll be ready for release in January.)
For all my samples, I’ll be knitting on size 0’s (2.0 mm) with Regia:
I’ve drawn up rough sketches of the patterns that I’ll be creating and have 5 of the corresponding swatches listed below. Each swatch has given me all the information I need to completely write the full sock pattern using that stitch pattern.
Sequence & Points of Consideration:
At first glance, this seems like an immense amount of work to attempt in 2.5 months. And while it is not a small project, I do feel like it’s within reach given my sock knitting speed. Also, each of these patterns will be based off a basic vanilla sock template. I will be using muggle technology to simplify the design & sizing process so that this goal will be attainable while still completing my other coursework. My plan is to finish 1 pattern rough draft & 1 sock each week/weekend until the end of term.
Proposed 50% Mark:
Since my aim is 1 pattern/sock per weekend and my goal is 12 total, it makes sense to shoot for 6 patterns/single socks completed as my 50% mark.
