→ J’ai nommé ces ouvrages “Sandra” en référence au nom du magazine dans lequel provient le tutoriel du granny et du t-shirt.

→ Quand j’ai commencé ce projet en 2015, c’était pour faire le t-shirt en granny du magazine “Sandra Plaisir du Crochet n°5”. Quand j’ai repris le projet en avril 2021, j’avais pris pas mal de poids donc je ne rentrais plus dans le t-shirt. Au lieu de tout refaire à la taille au dessus, j’ai crocheté d’autres carrés que j’ai ajouté à l’assemblage en cours. Le tour de taille était correct mais le t-shirt tombait au niveau des épaules. J’ai alors enlevé 6 carrés au niveau des épaules (3 de chaque côté) mais cela ne suffisait pas : les épaules tombaient toujours.

→ Le problème avec ces constructions en granny est que l’on augmente ou réduit la taille du projet dans son ensemble. J’ai donc choisi de découdre tous les carrés que je pouvais, sans les abîmer, et de les assembler en une housse de coussin (avec les deux faces) et une pochette à médicaments. Et j’ai pu utiliser la quasi-totalité des carrés encore viables !

→ Le coussin et la pochette possèdent une doublure cousue dans un tissu pour doublure Chintz blanc cassé (140g/m² ; 77% polyester - 23% coton) avec une aiguille universelle Bohin 80/12 et du fil à coudre en polyester blanc et noir. Je me suis aidée de cette vidéo pour coudre le tissu sur l’ouvrage au crochet.

→ Pour le coussin, j’ai utilisé en plus : un coussin de garnissage (39x39cm ; 100% polyester), 2 boutons pression Ø 12mm et une fermeture éclair noire de récupération.

→ Pour la pochette, j’ai utilisé en plus : un petit morceau d’une branche de bois et un élastique noir pour cheveux.

→ Notes sur les carrés : ils n’étaient pas très agréable à crocheter. D’une part à cause du fil Cotton Light qui a tendance à se dédoubler. D’autre part dû aux 36 brides à crocheter dans un anneau de 8 mailles en l’air, ce qui n’était pas évident car il n’y avait pas beaucoup de place…

→ Taille du coussin : 42 x 42cm.

→ Taille de la pochette (fermée) : 24,5 x 20,5cm.

→ I named these projects “Sandra” after the name of the magazine in which the granny and t-shirt tutorial is from.

→ When I started this project in 2015, it was to make the granny t-shirt from the “Sandra Plaisir du Crochet n°5” magazine. When I picked up the project in April 2021, I had gained quite a bit of weight so I didn’t fit in the t-shirt anymore. Instead of redoing everything at the next size up, I crocheted more squares and added them to the current assembly. The waistline was correct but the t-sshirt was falling down at the shoulders. I then removed 6 squares from the shoulders (3 on each side) but it wasn’t enough : the shoulders were still falling.

→ The problem with these granny constructions is that you increase or decrease the size of the overall project. So I opted to unstitch all the squares I could, without messing them up, and assemble them into a pillow cover (with both sides) and a medicine pouch. And I was able to use almost all of the still viable squares !

→ The cushion and pouch have a sewn-in lining in an off-white Chintz lining fabric (140g/m² ; 77% polyester - 23% cotton) with a Bohin 80/12 universal needle and white and black polyester sewing thread. I used this video to sew the fabric onto the crochet work.

→ For the cushion, I used in addition : a stuffing cushion (39 x 39cm (15.4 x 15.4”) ; 100% polyester), 2 snap fasteners Ø 12mm and a black zipper.

→ For the cover, I used in addition : a small piece of a wooden branch and a black hair elastic.

→ Notes on the squares : they were not very pleasant to crochet. On one hand because of the Cotton Light yarn which tends to split. On the other hand due to the 36 double crochet to crochet in a ring of 8 stitches, which was not easy because there was not much space…

→ Cushion size: 42 x 42cm (16.5 x 16.5”).
