NOTES |FRANÇAIS| :

→ Le fil Katia Warmy est une énorme pelote composée à 67% d’acrylique, 18% de laine et 15% de polyester. Son effet poilu rend le châle très chaud, doux et léger.

→ Avec ce fil, je voulais absolument crocheter mon premier châle rond !

→ Le modèle recommande un crochet 4mm mais j’ai utilisé la taille conseillée sur l’étiquette, soit un crochet 6mm. Le châle est donc beaucoup plus grand que ce qu’il devrait.

→ J’ai d’abord fait un test avec un autre fil pour me familiariser avec le modèle. En effet, le côté poilu du fil le rend presque impossible à défaire au crochet et j’avais peur de gâcher cette belle pelote.

→ Avec ce modèle, on apprend une technique pour faire des bords plus souples, plus épais et sans trous au niveau des lisières.

→ J’ai crocheté de façon lâche pour que le châle soit encore plus souple.

→ Comme il me restait du fil après la troisième section et que je voulais utiliser un maximum la pelote, j’ai fait 3 rangs en plus (rangs 65 à 67). Cependant, en utilisant quasiment toute la pelote, les extrémités sont beaucoup trop longues et ont tendance à rouler sur elles-mêmes. Pour palier à ça, je la mets donc comme une écharpe en l’enroulant deux fois autour de mon cou puis je noue les extrémités ensemble (qui sont devenues toutes petites) que je “cache” en dessous. Ainsi, je suis bien emmitouflée sans être embêtée !

→ Une fois le châle terminé, je l’ai lavé et bloqué.

→ Le châle mesure environ 230cm de long sur 64cm de haut.

→ Le châle est beau et chaud mais je suis un peu déçue par mon choix de laine. Premièrement, il ne rend pas honneur aux mailles, le tout est un peu fouillis. De plus, le châle est trop grand et la matière du fil rend mes cheveux électriques et plats… Bref, je l’aime tout de même mais je ne le porte que par très grand froid !

→ Katia Warmy yarn is a huge ball made up of 67% acrylic, 18% wool and 15% polyester. Its fuzzy effect makes the shawl very warm, soft and light.

→ I was determined to crochet my first round shawl with this yarn !

→ The pattern recommends a 4mm crochet hook, but I used the size suggested on the label, i.e. a 6mm crochet hook. The shawl is therefore much larger than it should be.

→ First, I did a test with another yarn to familiarize myself with the pattern. Indeed, the fuzzy aspect of the yarn makes it almost impossible to unravel when crocheted, and I was afraid of ruining this beautiful ball of yarn.

→ With this pattern, we learn a technique for making softer and thicker edges without holes at the selvedges.

→ I crocheted loosely to make the shawl even looser.

→ As I had some yarn left over after the third section and wanted to use as much of the ball as possible, I made 3 extra rows (rows 65 to 67). However, by using up most of the ball, the ends are much too long and tend to roll back on themselves. To overcome this, I put it on like a scarf, wrapping it twice around my neck, then knotting the ends together (which have become very small) and “hiding” them underneath. This way, I’m snugly wrapped up without being bothered !

→ Once the shawl was finished, I washed and blocked it.

→ The shawl is about 230cm long and 64cm high.

→ The shawl is beautiful and warm, but I’m a little disappointed by my choice of yarn. Firstly, it doesn’t do justice to the stitches, the whole thing is a bit messy. Also, the shawl is too big and the yarn material makes my hair electric and flat… In short, I love it anyway, but I only wear it when it’s really cold !
