→ Ce tissage provient d’un kit de Graine Créative contenant : un métier à tisser simple de 40x30 cm à monter soi-même, 20m de laine marron, 20m de laine blanche, 20m de laine caramel, 15m de laine jaune moutarde, 3m de laine mèche XL blanche, 12m de coton câblé écru, 60cm de bandelette aspect cuir marron foncé, 90cm de bandelette aspect cuir marron clair, 2 navettes, 1 peigne en bois et 1 aiguille en plastique à bout rond. J’ai utilisé en plus du fin coton blanc (fil de chaîne) et un morceau de barre à rideau de 35cm de long.

→ Le tissage fait environ 24cm de large sur 42cm de haut (sans la barre mais avec les franges).

→ Les fils du kit sont tout doux, on dirait des nuages !

→ Je n’avais pas compris qu’il fallait prendre la laine blanche fournie en fil de chaîne. Comme j’avais peur d’en manquer à la fin si je l’utilisais, j’ai regardé quelques tutoriels et j’ai plutôt utilisé un fin coton blanc de mon stock.

→ Je n’ai pas aimé utiliser la laine mèche XL. Il est tout doux, son rendu est très joli mais il n’est pas pratique à tisser.

→ J’ai eu du mal à comprendre le nœud ligature et je n’ai pas aimé le faire, je trouve qu’il n’est pas pratique avec le brin qui part vers le haut. Je pense utiliser d’autres techniques pour faire des franges les prochaines fois.

→ J’ai pas mal galéré avec la tension pour que le tissage reste droit (mais c’est normal quand on débute - je trouve même que ça va encore, que ça aurait pu être pire !).

→ J’ai foiré mes découpes pour le ruban aspect cuir marron clair… du coup je n’ai pas pu faire le dernier rang avec.

→ J’ai regardé 2-3 vidéos YouTube pour savoir comment terminer le travail, en bas comme en haut. J’ai pas mal tatonné mais je pense que j’y suis plutôt bien arrivée.

→ Ce kit est l’un des cadeaux de mon chéri pour Noël 2020.

→ J’ai beaucoup aimé cette première expérience avec le tissage, c’était très apaisant et relaxant, surtout en utilisant le point chevron. Je n’ai pas vu le temps passer en faisant ce kit !

→ Ce kit est vraiment très bien pour débuter car il possède tout le matériel nécessaire ! Petit bémol pour les fils où le métrage fourni est souvent tout juste.

→ This weaving comes from a kit from Graine Créative containing : a simple mounting weaving loom of 40x30cm (15.7x11.8”), 20m of brown wool, 20m of white wool, 20m of caramel-colored wool, 15m of mustard yellow wool, 3m of white XL wool roving, 12m of off-white cabled cotton, 60cm of dark brown leather-look strip, 90cm of light brown leather-look strip, 2 shuttles, 1 wooden weaving comb and 1 plastic needle with round end. I also used thin white cotton (warp thread) and a 35cm (13.8”) long piece of curtain rod.

→ The weaving is about 24cm (9.4”) wide and 42cm (16.5”) high (without the bar but with the fringe).

→ The threads of the kit are very soft, they look like clouds !

→ I didn’t understand that I had to use the white wool that was supplied in warp thread. I was afraid I would run out at the end if I used it, so I looked at some tutorials and used a thin white cotton from my stash instead.

→ I didn’t like using the XL wool roving. It’s very soft and pretty but it’s not practical to weave.

→ I had a hard time figuring out the ligature knot and didn’t like doing it, I find it inconvenient with the strand going up. I’m thinking of using other techniques to do fringe next time.

→ I had a lot of trouble with the tension to keep the weave straight (but that’s normal when you begin - I think it’s still okay, it could have been worse !).

→ I messed up my cutting for the light brown leather-look strip… so I couldn’t do the last row with it.

→ I watched 2-3 YouTube videos to learn how to finish the work, both on the bottom and top. I groped for quite a bit but I think I did it pretty well.

→ This kit is one of my darling’s gifts for Christmas 2020.

→ I really enjoyed this first experience with weaving, it was very soothing and relaxing, especially using the plain weave stitch. I didn’t see the time go by while doing this kit !

→ This kit is really good for beginners because it has all the necessary material ! Small downside for the yarns for which the yardage provided is often just enough.
