I’ve finally got the correct number of sts cast on!partying_facesmilezany_face

Using the Chilly Dog’s twisted German cast on for 2 at a time cuff down socks.

After a loooong break - needed to get a different circular needle - I’m back to these socks. Finished the ribbing! partying_faceclapheart

~ I’d been ‘fighting’ the cable on the first circ needle I was using, making the knitting very frustrating. I ordered some Addi Rockets, and it’s soooooo much nicer!! Thanks MakersMercantile !!heartheartheartheart

I’ve now switched to the leg portion, and I’ve got one set of ‘sheep’ finished!partying_faceclapheartsmile.

I’m still a bit tied up and tangled, but I’m slowly getting the hang of this partying_facepartying_facepartying_faceheart

Finished the first full repeat of the sheep! partying_faceclapsmileheartsheep

Finished the second (of 3) chart repeats partying_facesheepheartclapsmile

After separating the pair to get the heel sts setup, I’ve kept working on just one sock.

I’ve worked the waste yarn for the afterthought heel, finished the foot and toe. All I’ve left to work is the heel, then weave in my ends.

As my first colorwork sock, I think it looks quite good. I can see where my sts were loose at the needle changes. It’s a bit lumpy and wriggly, and it seems like the heel doesn’t line up with the toe as it’s folded, but that might just be an illusion.

Notes for the future if I make another 2 At A Time Pair:

  • Wind all the yarn balls separately
  • Read ahead to see where to split the sock sets for the heels/toes
  • Work/practice more to keep those needle change sts even with the rest of the sock sts

Single Sock Syndrome strikes again!! I’ve not finished the second sock. Will endevour to get it done this summercrossed_fingers

I’m calling this done for now. I’m still aiming to get the second sock done, and I’ll add it to the page when I get there.
