My yarn is nearly dry (it’s only been a few days ). I think it came out beautifully! For a first try with this kind of gradient dyeing, this is perfect!

Also, I dyed some balls of roving the same way, so they used the leftover dye from the pot and got a bit of a fade as well.

I’ve finally cast on! It seems like a fun quick pattern, tho I’m only 9 repeats in from the start, and I’ve a loooong way to go

I’ve made it to jut over 200 sts, and the colors are just starting to change

Getting into the lace section now, 2/3 finished already!

I’m now about halfway thru the lace skulls, and mostly into the black color of yarn. I do think I’ll need to dye some additional black yarn to finish this, as my ball is very tiny now.

I ran out of my original gradient, so dyed more black. It’s not an exact match to the first black, but it’s so close that the switch is invisible!

I’ve finished with Row 38 of 52 in the lace section. I’m pretty sure I’ll need more black yarn once again, but I should be able to get a few more rows finished before running out . This is a yarn-vacuum!

I finally finished! I had to dye up yet more ‘black’ (which ended up being a gorgeous shade, with a bit of green to it again!).

I loved this shawl! It’s easy start, the fun skulls, and the simple lace around them. It also gave me the chance to try dyeing a gradient skein!.

The next time I make one, I’ll use a 200g ball
