10/21/2010: Concluded that if I use 8-ply yarn (by doubling my 4-ply), I will need 48 stitches for size 41 (US women’s 10). So far it’s looking good. I’ve uploaded my notes here as a PDF, in case anyone would like to use them (it pre-supposes you know how to knit toe-up socks). Not particularly pretty but usable. There are several changes to the original pattern, so be aware of that if you attempt to knit this. I’m also not sure if I got the front & back cables right, might be the other way around.

11/04/2010: Finished sock #1. I really didn’t like the lightning pattern the way it was, so I changed it to a k1 p1 pattern halfway through. Not too great, but I guess I’m the only one who’ll notice anyway.

12/02/2010: Done knitting sock two, finally! Maybe I’ll add another faux stitch on the inside of the foot.
