Holy crap! This was a marathon of a project. Most of my difficulties with this sweater were completely of my own doing. I decided to knit it in pieces in order to have nice strong seams to hold up the weight of it. I started knitting the back, made it almost to the armpits, and then realized I’d made it four inches too big! Erk!

Back to the drawing board, and four weeks later and days upon days of waking up early and going to bed late to work on it, and I’ve finished. I’m pretty happy with the result, except that the placket still curls, despite my efforts to steam it down. Oh well. I hope my friend likes it! He’s always wanted one, and his wife asked me to make it for him. I’m glad I really like these people!
