I loved the colors of the afghan on the pattern, but decided that I needed one with specific colors for my bedroom. Basically I just switched out the gold for blue, and the greens I chose were very close to the original pattern.
It should not have taken me so long to finish this project - it really was quite easy! I discovered that while making a project that is worked one square at a time makes it portable, I don’t care to sew it all together. It would look nicer - more balanced - if I had done another row down one side, but I just wanted to get it finished. I enjoyed making the border around the edge, but ran out of yarn! The last corner is worked with bits and pieces. I think I must have more yarn in my stash upstairs, but as I am finishing this with a large cast on my foot, I am not in a position to go stash-diving. IT IS DONE.
