Mods so far:

  • After six rows, I changed increases from yo to M1 (backward loop method). It’s easier to remember, involves less counting, and yields the same stretchy edge, so I’m sticking with it.
  • On MC shortrows, after increase bit at the beginning, I knit 22 sts before w&t in order to knit first wrapped stitch.

The edge between my short-row sections is turning out a little gappy, so maybe I’ll try knitting the wrapped stitches tbl to tighten them up a bit. Will report back.

I learned to live with the gaps (I think they’ll block out a bit – they did).

For the border, I knit 12 rows before binding off (on the RS). In the last row, I didn’t do any increases, which made binding off easier and neater.
