For the crochet part around the bottom, I used hooks in sizes 3mm and G (I don’t know enough about crochet to convert the letter to a number). I am definitely not a crocheter, but I managed to muddle through (I think).

The pattern I had as a base was a photocopy from a magazine given to me at the yarn store where I bought the sheepskin soles, but it didn’t include any of the abbreviation definitions or photos of the finished slippers. So, while I used it as a guide for the crochet portion, I improvised the knit tops and reknit the first slipper three times (at least) until I got something I was happy with.

The two used the same stitch counts throughout, but because of my wonky crochet and the slightly different placement of the holes in the soles, they don’t look quite the same.
