Notes

Decided to try this pattern because I ordered the Eeyore kit from the UK and wanted to practice some of the techniques like short rows that I am not that used to doing.

Fiddly (mainly due to working with small needles and a small project) and had to redo sections as I went along.

Tested several yarns and colors I had in my stash before I was able to get a good combination that would work and look ok. Also went from size 4 US down to size 3 US to keep stuffing from peeking through.

Pattern is well written and easy to follow but small needles and especially stitching together, working icords takes patience and concentration, not a pattern to watch tv to joy_cat

Worked on embroidered eyes. Used Pebble Island for eyeballs, split yarn, used one ply sewn horizontally in loops, to make oval shape. Outlined with two plies. Used black Lion Brand cashmere sewn vertically just 3 stitches, close together and gently pulled up to create pupil. All eye related yarns were secured by tying carefully into square knots inside the frog head.

definitely not perfect and fudged a lot of the seams.

really like the feel of the alpaca yarns together, soft and fuzzy snowman

Re: the hind legs, I stuffed extra yarn (using a large needle) into the “left” (pattern left) leg after I sewed it up to make it match the other leg in shape and size; also the “left” foot was twisted in a strange position probably because I didn’t sew the top of the “left” leg correctly to the belly zany_faceso filling out the leg allowed me to twist it around to match the position of other foot, sort of.

still tbd : make the front legs.

Finally finished, had to seriously fudge seams of fore legs, Froggy is a bit asymmetrical joy_cat
