I have knit a swatch. I didn’t bind it off or block because I want to be able to use that yarn. Measuring gauge of brioche in pattern is hard—I _think_ it’s only a little big, close enough that I won’t run out of yarn. But idk. Do I take the risk?

(yes. the answer is yes. stay tuned for a month or so from now when I am whining about how I should have gotten US3 circs finally instead of chancing it on a swatch that I didn’t understand.)

As I reached the end of the pattern, I decided I wanted it to be just a little bit larger—and I wanted to use _all_ the yarn. 16 extra rows (one full pattern repeat) later my shawl is the perfect size and I have used all but 2 grams of each color. Perfection.
