Switch to US2
Rib K2P2 for 2½“

Switch to US3

Begin thumb gusset
R1 kfb, k1, kfb, k to end (58sts)
R2-3 k

Continue R1-R3 increasing number of sts between kfb by 2 each repeat until row 30 (76sts)

R31 k1, sl 21 to scrap yarn and tie in a bow, co 5 (backwards loop), k to end (60 sts)
R32 k1, pm (new BoR marker) k to end

R33-48 k

Switch to US2½

From here through pinkies (inclusive) follow the pattern, except for binding off, first do a wrap & turn, then the surprisingly stretch bo in pattern.

Thumb

Follow instructions for picking up stitches, 28sts. Rib 18 rows.

Pick up 32 sts from the top of the glove. (to find which stitches, lay the glove flat with palm-side down. At 5 rows before the fingers, start on the top edge of the thumb gusset and pick up 32 stitches toward the pinkie) (60 sts)

R1 k across picked up stitches, rib the rib stitches, and join in the round
R2 k1, place BoR marker for next round. k the ks, p the ps
R3-R27 k (6.5cm)
R28 k1, ssk, k24, k2tog, k1 x 2 (56 sts)
