Love this project! I made a tiny one in Cascade 220 for my daughter, and I’m now I’m making a “real” one in Lopi for me.

I used the German Twisted Cast On from the video, and it’s fun! I love learning new ways to cast on.

August 18, 2015:
After letting it hibernate, I’ve finally finished! Blocked, steeked, ribbons sewn. Ah, lovely! At the very last minute, I tried it on and decided I love it with no buttons.

There were a couple changes I made along the way, but I guess I didn’t write them here like I usually do. I do know that I ripped the body out at least twice. The first time, I added shaping that I didn’t do the math for and of course didn’t like.

Then I realized that to fit my body, I didn’t need the last round of increases in the yoke, so I ripped them out.

I finished the body straight, with no shaping, as per the pattern. The sweater fits me great at the bust but is too tight around my hips. I’m not shocked by this at all, and I think it’ll look nice just worn open. I call that a success! A sweater made by me that I’ll actually wear.

I’m finding it really … textural…, almost itchy, but surprisingly manageable. I’m looking forward to feeling it age and soften over the years to come.
