01/22/10 — Bah! After blocking, the hat grew. So it’s longer now… and the circumference of the opening is larger, too. It still looks nice! It’s just slightly larger than I would have liked.

01/21/10 — I ended up making the “child” size because it looked like it was plenty long by the end of the second repeat of rows 28-40. In fact, I think it’s slightly long. The circumference is perfect, though! I’m blocking the hat over an upside-down Ikea jar. Hopefully it will come out looking good! :D

01/20/10 — Cast on 110 stitches despite having a different gauge. Also did 12 rows of 1×1 ribbing (instead of 16). Hoping it’ll end up looking like the falling water scarf as I will be presenting the two together as a gift.
