12/22/10 — Since I thought this shawl was better suited for the office assistant at work, I gave it to her as a Christmas/holiday present.

08/27/10 — Finally finished! I started binding off while on the D train going to work this morning. Then I finished binding off during my lunch break because I simply could not hold out any longer: it was freezing in my office! (It’s also really cold on the express bus to/from Staten Island. They blast the A/C on max the whole ride!) All that’s left is a good soaking and a mediocre blocking. I just want it to soften up and grow a little :)

08/20/10 — I’m up to 2” of the 2×2 ribbed pleated edge (2” left). However, it takes me almost 30 minutes to get across one row (500+ sts!)! It’s very slow going. Also? This shawl is HUGE! The wingspan is probably near 70” at this point (it’s hard to tell ‘cause my circular needle is only 60”) and it hangs down to (and even past!) my butt. It’s too cumbersome now to take on public transit with me to knit but it’ll be fantastic to wear in the office :D So big and warm and squishy!

08/18/10 — I spent hours today working on this shawl. (I spent 5 hours on public transportation today: 2 in the morning, 3 in the afternoon.) It was over 60” across… before I noticed that I made a mistake. I got a couple of rows into the pleated edge part (past the incr row)… and then I spent a couple of hours unknitting 3 or 4 rows. ARGH! Kill me now.

08/16/10 — Ugh. After knitting happily along for 2 weeks, I made a mistake. Unknitting some rows made me sad so I spent some time away from the shawl for two weeks (while working on another project). But I’m back! I’m on track now and there will be no more mistakes!

07/21/10 — Started a new shawl immediately after finishing the previous one. I like this cast on so much better!
