7/23/15 I’ve just finishing binding off. Now to weave in the ends!

7/18/15 Finally got the last three skeins! I started working on this again today. I love how it’s turning out.

7/3/15 Still waiting on 3 more skeins! In the meantime, I read this article: https://northernlace.wordpress.com/2010/03/12/feather-and... and, as a result, changed my project name to Old Shale. Interesting!

6/28/15 I’ve knitted up all 6 skeins that I currently have. I’m waiting for a total of four more! Current measurements are 33.5” wide by 28” long. Finished length should be about 47”, maybe longer as it will stretch a smidge.

6/27/15 I love this project so much. I was afraid the yarn texture/loft plus the complicated colorway plus the pattern would be too busy, but I think it’s awesome. It’s going really quickly. I think it’s going to be 10 skeins’ worth when all is said and done. I started with 6, purchased 1 from an awesome fellow raveler, and just ordered 3 from www.cucumberpatch.com which, despite being in the UK, had the best price by far even after shipping. So excited!

6/23/15 Making good progress. The photos don’t do the color justice--there’s much more purple and blue and less orange. Just started the third skein and it’s not quite 10” so I’ll definitely need more yarn.

6/22/15 I’m not super sure about a couple of things…first, I don’t think I’m going to have enough yarn to make it a decent length. I used a partial skein first and am now working off a full one, but it’s just not going as far as I thought it would.

Second, the color ways are not all the same even though they’re all labelled the same. About half of the skeins have much more purple and blue and the other half are almost completely sand colored (I added a pic showing the difference). They still have the same palette so I’m just alternating and forging ahead.

All that said, I love the pattern and how it’s looking, enough that I’m considering trying to find more skeins in this color way!
