Making surprisingly speedy progress on this one, I didnt think I would because working flat means lots of purl. But I’m almost at the 10th pattern repeat out of 12 on the sleeve section. I haven’t decided yet what modifications if any I’ll make to the body but I think I’ll want it a little longer.
This Merino/Silk yarn is beautiful to work with and developed a lovely drape when blocked in my gauge swatch.

The longer rows towards the end of the project have come around now, it makes the end of the project feel like a bit of an uphill struggle. The fact that there will be just one single end to weave in once I’m done is making me feel much better though.
So far on the lower body I have added one rpt of chart A and one half rpt of B, and am now remaining in pattern for the rest, currently knitting the start of chart E. All in all:
Chart A - 4 rpts (32 rows)
Chart B - 1.5 rpts (24 rows, second 8 rows of chart B repeated)
Chart C - once, as in pattern, 16 rows
Chart D - once, as in pattern, 16 rows
Chart E - once, as in pattern, 16 rows

Finished with the chart repeats as written out above.
It felt a bit small before blocking but I should have just trusted the gauge swatches, I blocked it aggressively and it grew so much and developed a lovely silky drape. Because of the unconventional construction I couldn’t trust my usual sizing methods so it’s a relief that it fits well. The sleeves have come up a bit shorter, falling above the elbow, maybe because I really stretched them out for a looser fit.
Looking though ravelry projects before I started I was surprised to see how many people had knitted multiple Hitofudes but now I get it completely. The pattern is constructed so elegantly & the end result is perfect for the summer.
